We were thrilled to hear that Julian Putkowski, renowned author of Shot at Dawn – Executions in World War One under the Authority of the British Army Act, will be giving a lecture at the University of Nottingham regarding the eight Foresters executed during WWI.
Shot at Dawn, authored by Putkowski and Julian Sykes, was a groundbreaking work which has since formed the basis of many people’s research (including our ‘103 Foresters’ project) and was crucial in starting off a campaign that eventually led to most of the executed British troops being pardoned in 2007.
