We were at the Youth Heritage Conference yesterday, along with members of the fabulous Hyson Green Oral History Project. We presented a number of displays and two films on the 1981 riots as well as regarding our research on Militant Direct Action in Nottingham 1766-1831 (i.e. Cheese Riot to Reform Riots), contrasted with some local material on the 2011 riots.
Although we were not overrun by young people (though it worked as we hoped as people drifted in and out, watched the films and looked at the displays), we had the chance to engage in many enjoyable talks. The conference was a success and we hope it will be done again next year.
